STRAIN GAGES
Experimental stress analysis techniques are applied during the design, manufacturing, testing, and maintenance of various machine components, structures, and assemblies. This methodology is usually indicated under the following circumstances.

For example:
  • When the operational stresses and deflections are too complex or intricate to evaluate using conventional mathematical and simulation routines
  • When load modalities are too complex to evaluate realistically
  • For experimental validation of mathematical models
  • For verification of prototype reliability
load cells
During the exploratory phase of the development/design process, our technologists apply layers of brittle lacquer on areas of test models or prototypes. This technique enables our specialists to clearly identify critical stresses and deflection areas.

To evaluate operational stress characteristics, our extensometry experts install a variety of strain gages to gather all the necessary data.

Nowadays strain gages have become reliable experimental results

The installation of strain gauges onto a testing cell allows us to produce customized load transducers adapted to your needs. Various electrical configuration allows the measuring of a variety of strenght and moments such as ; tension, compression, bending and torque.

We are available to perform installations at our customer's site. And if he lacks the necessary expertise or measuring equipment to use these transducers, PMG Technologies offers all the necessary support service for those needs. Our mobile data acquisition units allow a study of dynamic handling of the test specimen inside our laboratories or directly at the customer's site.

The Kit135
Upon the announcement of a new CMVSS 135 safety standard for passenger vehicle's hydraulic braking systems in October 1996, PMG Technologies' research & development department started developing a new testing device, " the Kit 135", that can be used as a data acquisition, data processing, analysis , validation and printing device. To guide the technologist during the process, PMG has developed an easy to work with virtual device interface using National Instrument's LabView software.
The Kit 135 developed by PMG Technologies is without a doubt the most complete high-tech testing device on the market today. Its man/machine interface insures its reliability, effectiveness and an acute understanding of the process. It is not sufficient to build a completely automated testing device regarding the specifics of a standard, it must be designed, built and integrated in collaboration with the user/customer. At this level, PMG Technologies has created the ideal product to meet the most demanding requirements of the automobile industry.
